Day Programs for Adults with Disabilities and Aging Adults with Disabilities
The Adult Day Services Program is a service designed to enrich the quality of life of its participants. It promotes opportunities to experience adult roles, develop personal competence, and exercise independence. Programming utilizes areas of natural supports and advocacy with an emphasis on materials and language that promote a positive self image.
The Program also assesses competencies, needs, preferences and interests and offers individualized learning experiences.
Participants in this program are encouraged to form meaningful relationships and to become contributing and productive members in their community. .

AREAS OF CONCENTRATION
Employment Orientation Participants explore work/business opportunities in the community.
Volunteer Work Participants can utilize their vocational skills and learn new opportunities through volunteer experiences.
Self Improvement Group Activities Participants become involved in community based activities such as health exercise and sporting activities.
Community Interests Participants utilize cultural as well as social opportunities in the community such as visits to the library, museums, theater, banks and shopping excursions.
Center Programming Participants in this program opt to remain in-Center and utilize the opportunities available within Easter Seals (see Center Activities.)
Functional Skill Enhancement Participants increase their skills related to adult living by enhancing their abilities to communicate, dress themselves, eat skillfully and independently and more.
Volunteer Companion Program Participants enjoy the benefits of an integrated leisure setting with non-disabled peers. Volunteers from the community match their interests with those of the participants.
