At the Autism & Developmental Disabilities Center in Stamford, CT, our mission is:
To provide high quality evaluation and treatment services for children and adolescents with autism and other developmental disabilities using methods and practices supported by the strongest scientific evidence, and to conduct on-going research on training and treatment effectiveness at changing socially significant behaviors for the children and families.
Specific Autism Services we offer are listed below:
Evaluation Services:

Psychological diagnostic evaluations and ongoing assessments for children and adolescents who may have autism and other developmental disabilities

Speech evaluations and treatment services including communication evaluations for augmentative communication devices

Psychiatric evaluations and medication management for children and adolescents with autism and other developmental disabilities

Functional Behavior Assessments (including Functional Analyses) and treatment plans for children with autism and other developmental disabilities who have severe behavior problems

Behavioral assessments of language and development for children with autism (ABLLS and VB-MAPP)
Treatment Services:
- Home-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services for children with autism
- School consultation for children and adolescents with autism and other developmental disabilities, including creating and sustaining internal capabilities for schools and school districts for implementing ABA programs for children and adolescents with autism

Speech therapy and training to use augmentative communication devices

Psychiatric medication management

Feeding clinic for children with severe feeding disorders

Parent training in ABA concepts and procedures for use with school and home programs to enable the higher dosage of
ABA needed to achieve greater impact

Family support programs, including how to access insurance-based ABA services for children with autism, how to evaluate treatments based on the best scientific evidence, how to evaluate progress using data and make data-based decisions, and how to address the life changes and needs for children and their families over time

Camp Hemlocks for summer camp, respite, and family weekends home or school ABA programs and speech services implemented by trained therapists and supervised by a BCBAs while at camp and during family weekends to eliminate gaps in treatment

Camp weekends at Camp Hemlocks for families with children and adolescents with autism and developmental disabilities.
