Providing Services for People with Disabilities and Special Needs and Their Families

When children and adults with autism, disabilities and other special needs come to Easter Seals, they can find high-quality services designed to meet their individual needs. Teams of therapists, teachers, counselors and other professionals help each person overcome obstacles to independence and reach his or her personal goals. Easter Seals also includes families as active members of any therapy program, offering them the support they need.

Camping and Recreation: Having Fun, Making Friends, Mastering Skills, Expanding Independence

Easter Seals Camp Hemlocks is about all the things children and adults can do! From s'mores and campfires, to kayaking, rock climbing, or taking a dip in the lake or our therapeutic pool, Easter Seals Camp Hemlocks provides a safe, barrier-free environment for children and adults to experience all aspects of camp without usual limitations. Camp Hemlocks is a barrier-free oasis, located on 100 acres of unspoiled woodlands surrounding Jones Lake in Hebron, Connecticut. Camp Hemlocks is fully accredited by the American Camp Association.

Easter Seals Coastal Fairfield County Stamford, CT Autism Center - Evaluation & Treatment Services

Under the direction of Dr. Thomas Zwicker, Ph.D, BCBA-D, the Easter Seals Autism and Developmental Disabilities Center provides high quality evaluation and treatment services for children and adolescents with autism and other development disabilities using methods and practices supported by the strongest scientific evidence. The center also conducts on-going research on training and treatment effectiveness of changing socially significant behaviors for the children and families.
